Acting

I've been in love with acting since I was cast as Doc in my first play. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The next year my school did another play over the summer - The Wizard of Oz, I played the scarecrow. After that summer I went to a middle school that didn't have a theater department, thus I had no chance to be in another school play.  However,  My dad found an ad in the newspaper advertising try outs for a a community play being held in my town. 

    I went there and tried out. I must have been pretty good because they asked me to perform my audition song in the production. So I joined the cast for my first community production, Broadway Showstoppers. We sung some of the best Broadway songs out there. I had a few solos and did some ensemble work.

When that production ended  I tried out  for  Roger and Hammerstein's Cinderella. I landed a lead role as Harold the Herald and did double duty with a few minor roles. 

My second summer show with the community theater group was in One Brief Shining Moment In it we performed songs from Lerner & Lowe Broadway productions. I had a solo as Mordred from Camelot and sang several other numbers with some of my friends. 

In Once upon a Mattress  I got another lead role. I was cast as the Jester.   That show was lots of fun. I had to do lots of singing & dancing. 

The next show I auditioned for was Oklahoma. I didn't get a lead this time because all the leads were for adults but I was okay with it because I really needed the break! As a member of the cast chorus I didn't have as many rehearsals to attend. This left me time to audition for some other theater groups.

So,  I then auditioned for my first role at the children's theater in town and lucky me, I landed one of the lead roles  in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. 

The summer show at the community theatre in town was
I Love my MTV. We preformed all sorts of songs from the eighties. I got to perform as my favorite guy, Weird Al. I sang Eat it. I also opened the show by singing Video Killed the Radio Star. My friend Scott & I also preformed Soul Man as the Blues Brothers. See the rehearsal video on YouTube

December 2007 was my latest show, I was the only kid cast as a lead in Beauty and the Beast, except for chip. Being the only kid in an all adult lead cast was challenging, but fun.

In the spring of 2008 I was in Brigadoon. I played  Stuart Dalrymple. It's a featured role but I was lucky to get that because, with the exception of myself, all of the male roles were given to the adults or older\high school aged teenagers.  I was cast in that role because of my ability to sing the character's solo during the chase scene. The play is set in Scotland so all the guys had to wear kilts -ugh!

Over Summer 2008, I was in 2 plays the first was  Willy Wonka Jr. at a nearby college. I portrayed the TV News Reporter, Phineas Trout.  and I did a summer camp production of The Jungle Book. I got to play my first villian role as Sher-Kan the tiger

I'm currently in rehearsals for FAME the Musical. I will be playing Jose "Joe" Vegas.
